Higher Rank: Lieutenant General
Lower Rank: Colonel

Major General is the first general officer rank, above Colonel and below Lieutenant General. They may command task forces or major starbases or shipyards if no naval officer is available, bases on major worlds, or other similar duties.

Major Generals have the same collar insignia as all other generals, and are so denoted by the red, brown and white piping on their uniforms.
