The Deckhands are NCO personnel operating under the Chief of the Deck. They are not, however, all confined to the rank of the same name.
Deckhands are trained in all the jobs required on the flight deck, from maintenance to damage control. They are commonly called knuckle-draggers by the officers of the Fleet.
